How Can I Regain

 My Figure After Pregnancy?

You might think that losing weight after pregnancy will be hard because being pregnant can affect the speed at which your metabolism works.  However, with a little patience and effort, it is not as difficult as it might seem.

If you have not yet had your baby, you should start thinking about getting your figure back while you are still pregnant.  Exercises can be done until late in the pregnancy that strengthen the stomach and stop excess weight being gained so that you won’t have so much to lose after giving birth.  Walking, swimming and gentle yoga are all ideal exercises for pregnant mums-to-be.

Breastfeeding your baby is one of the best ways of getting your shape back quickly as it helps to use up the stores of fat in the body.   A nursing mum should be consuming an extra 500 calories a day, but breastfeeding burns more than this, so the weight begins to drop off.

Eating the right foods is essential to regain your figure quickly.  Eat more fruits and vegetables and wholegrain foods, and ensure you are eating plenty of lean protein to enable the body to repair itself.

Exercise plays a very important part in getting your figure back after giving birth. Whenever possible include your baby in your exercise routine as this will make it easier to find the time to exercise. There are many mother and baby exercise groups you can join, and just taking your baby for walks will help start to burn excess calories.
