How To Find Ways To
Lose Weight After Pregnancy
Most women gain somewhere in the region of 25 -35 pounds during pregnancy. After giving birth, they will have lost between 12-14 pounds in weight which leaves 13 -21 pounds of weight to lose to regain their pre-pregnancy weight. This probably seems a huge amount to lose but it can be done and should be done for your health.
After having a baby, it is best to wait a couple of months before making a serious effort at getting back your figure. This will give your body time to recover after giving birth and allow you to settle in to being a new mum.
To start regaining your figure, a healthy diet is essential. Don’t worry about cutting back on calories too much, especially if you are breastfeeding. Instead concentrate on making your diet as healthy as possible by ensuring it includes lots of fruit and vegetables, wholegrain foods, low fat dairy products and a regular source of lean protein. Breastfeeding can help you to regain your figure as it helps to use up the stores of fat in the body.
Exercise is very important to if you want to regain your former shape and figure. It is possible to start doing gentle exercise almost as soon as you get home but more vigorous exercise should be left until after your post-natal check. Any form of exercise will help you to get in shape but swimming and walking are good ways to start. Another idea is an exercise video which you can do when the baby is asleep.
